13th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sun, 28-Jun: BCS AGM + Talk & Awareness Session

The Bombay Catholic Sabha will hold their Annual General Body Meeting in the school hall after the 9.30 am Mass followed by:

  • a talk on the Maharashtra Freedom of Religion Bill and
  • an awareness session on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

A second collection is being made at all Masses over this weekend for the activities of the Sabha.

Mon, 29-Jun: Sts. Peter & Paul (Solemnity)

Monday, 29th June, is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.

A second collection for the charities of the Holy Father will be made on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July at all Masses. This is then sent to Rome.

Wed, 1-Jul: Parish Fathers to visit Zone T2

The Parish Fathers will be visiting families of the T2 community on Wednesday, 1st July from 6 to 8 pm.

Altar Servers Ministry – Invitation

We warmly invite all children from Std. IV (who have received their First Holy Communion) up to Std. X to join our Altar Servers Ministry.

Meetings are held every Thursday from 5.00 pm, followed by games and fun activities.

Children who would like to become Altar Servers are invited to attend the meeting on Thursday, 2nd July, and experience the joy of serving at the altar while growing in faith and friendship.

Fri, 3-Jul: First Friday, Holy half hour

Friday 3rd July is the First Friday of the month, Holy half hour at 7 pm, followed by Mass at 7.30 pm.

Sun, 5-Jul: Faith Formation Sunday

To mark the feast of St. Thomas, the Apostle of India, next Sunday 5th July will be observed as Faith Formation Sunday.

  • The Sunday School teachers will be re-commissioned at the 8.15 am Mass.
  • The Sunday School teachers will have their First Deanery Recollection at our parish Sunday 5th July from 4.30 to 6.30 pm in the AV Hall.

Sat, 4-Jul: PPC Mtg

The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Saturday, 4th July at 8 pm in the AV Hall.

Saturday evening Confessions

Henceforth, Saturday evening Confessions will be held in the church from 6 to 7 pm and not in the Counselling Room.

Parish Media Cell

Those desiring to serve in the Parish Media Cell may give their name to Fr. Warner.

Wed, 24-Jun: Solemnity – Birth of St. John the Baptist

This Wednesday, 24th June, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Birth of St. John the Baptist.

Sat, 27-Jun: Mass at OLPS Chapel

This Saturday, 27th June, Mass at OLPS Chapel will commence and will thereafter be celebrated on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.

Sun, 28-Jun: Feast of BCS Patron – St Paul

Next Sunday, 28th June, the Bombay Catholic Sabha will celebrate the feast of its Patron, St. Paul. A second collection will be made at all Masses that day for the activities of BCS in our parish.

Sun, 28-Jun: BCS AGM

Next Sunday, 28th June, at 11.00 am, the Annual General Meeting of the Bombay Catholic Sabha will be held in the School Hall.

This will be followed by a talk on the Maharashtra Freedom of Religion Bill and an awareness session on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This is a matter of serious concern and cannot be taken lightly.

  • We urge all parishioners to attend this session in large numbers.
  • We especially request the members of the Parish Council and the heads of all associations and movements to be present.
  • We also exhort our youth and all parishioners to take time off and attend this important session, as these issues directly affect us as Christians.

Examiner

Parishioners who have subscribed to The Examiner magazine are requested to collect their copies from outside the Confession Room by Monday.

Copies remaining thereafter will be removed.

Wed, 1-July onwards: Parish visitation

Parish visitation will commence on Wednesday, 1st July, at 6.00 pm

  • We will begin with the T2 Community.
  • Two priests will visit fourteen families each week, seven families per priest.
  • During this time, one priest will celebrate the evening Mass and will remain available in the parish.

11th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sun, 14-Jun: Confirmation Classes begin!

Confirmation Classes commence at 7.30 am in the School AV Room. Students who have appeared for the SSC examinations and those above the age of 16 who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation are requested to register at the Parish Office.

Language Masses

  • From this week onwards, the Konkani Mass will be held every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
  • The Hindi/Marathi Mass will no longer be held on Mondays and will instead be celebrated on the third Thursday of each month, beginning in July.
  • Next Sunday, 21st June, there will be a Tamil Mass at 7:00 p.m.

Cells & Associations Mtgs/Services

From this Monday, 15th June, all Cells and Associations are requested to commence their regular meetings and services.

Tue, 16-Jun: Mass-bookings open!

Mass bookings for the months of July, August and September will open this Tuesday, 16th June, at 7:30 a.m. Parishioners are requested to bring their Family Card when booking Mass intentions.

Sun, 21-Jun: Sunday School begins!

Sunday School for students from Std. I to Std. X will begin on 21st June. Parents are requested to send their children for the 8.15 am Mass, followed by Sunday School.

Sun, 21-Jun: Induction Mass of Fr. Warner D’Souza

The Induction Mass of Fr. Warner D’Souza, our Parish Priest, will be held on 21st June at 9:30 am The Mass will be presided over by Bishop Dominic Savio.

Sat, 27-Jun: Mass at OLPS Chapel

From Saturday, 27th June, OLPS Chapel Mass will commence and will thereafter be celebrated on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.

Matrimony

Those planning to get married should meet the Priest at least six months prior to the date of their Nuptials.

For regular updates

Regarding Mass timings and parish activities, please make sure that:

  • Your family is registered in the parish;
  • You have a Parish Card and
  • The Zonal Leader has your mobile number for Whatsapp Group information.

It is very important that every family is registered in the parish.

  • The Parish office needs to check the Family Card whenever you approach the office for any work: like Booking of Masses, registering for Sacraments, or a Letter of Reference for education, or transfer to another parish. Hence, please bring your Family Card along when you visit the parish office. If you do not have a Family Card, please get it done from the parish office as soon as possible.
  • You must keep your Parish Family Card active by contributing to the Community Welfare Fund regularly, no matter even if it is a small amount. The Community Welfare Fund is used for helping the poor, giving medical and educational assistance, for Community programmes and for the development of the parish. It is important that you share in these concerns with your contribution.

  • The Mass for—’intentions placed in the box in the Sanctuary’—will be on Wednesday evening, and
  • The ‘Multi-intention Mass’ will be on Saturday evening

Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Timings
6am – 2pm and 4pm – 9pm

We request you, please:

  • to observe the timings,
  • to not touch the Blessed Sacrament,
  • to not shift the chairs, and
  • to be aware of the presence of other people in the chapel; and so, to please “not pray loudly”, or genuflect in an awkward manner

Gate No. 4 is open for entry to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 6am to 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm

Bible Study

  • Parish level Bible Study held every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, from 7.30 to 9pm in the AV Room. All parishioners are invited.
  • Zonal level Bible Study will be held once a month in co-ordination with the Community Leaders.

Confessions

Saturdays 6 to 7pm

Matrimony

  • Contact any priest in the parish at least six months before the marriage date. You will be guided about the Marriage Preparation Course, getting the Baptism Certificate etc
  • No fresh flowers should be put on the bench or any wooden furniture in the church.
  • Bursting of fire crackers in and around the church premises is absolutely forbidden. The family is responsible for the same.

Baptism

  • You can come to the Parish Office and confirm the date, and check what documents are needed.
  • Baptisms are celebrated in our parish on Sundays after the 9.30am Mass.

Legal Help & Marriage Bureau (CCO)

For assistance you may call or WhatsApp >> Sr. Vivian from 10 to 12am on weekdays.

Program for Parkinson’s patients & Tuition Cell (CCO)

  • A group of doctors will conduct Exercises and an Awareness Program at the CCO every Wednesday for those affected by Parkinson’s.
  • There is a hospital bed available with the CCO.
  • The Tuition Cell of the CCO conducts free tuitions for marginalized students. We invite volunteers to teach the poor students.

Funeral Arrangement

Contact Jude or any of the Fathers over the phone. Contact numbers have been given in your WhatsApp Groups. Till further notice, we will continue to celebrate the Funeral Mass at the Mulund East cemetery.

Proceedings at Funeral Masses

  • The mortal remains will be brought to the church for viewing half an hour before the Mass.
  • After the Mass, close family members will move out to the church porch during the final hymn to accept condolences. Please do not crowd in the church to meet the relatives.
  • People may come forward from the centre isle to pay their last respects and move out from the side (as you come for communion distribution).
  • Only one person will deliver the eulogy from the choir mike. The eulogy should be three to five minutes only.

CWF

Contribution to the Community Welfare Fund (CWF) can be made to the Parish Account —details have been sent through Community Leaders. Once the transaction is done, kindly send the details on the (new) mobile number sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Group.

Articles for the poor

  • Kindly DO NOT BRING or LEAVE anything at the church until an announcement is made during the Sunday Notices.
  • And when such request is made, please refrain from bringing articles that cannot be used any longer; like torn clothes, inner garments, broken statues, old religious books, etc.

Contributing to the SSVP

  • The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, Mulund unit — needs more people to join them in working for the poor of the parish. You may give your name to the Parish Priest.
  • The SVP makes a collection during the Masses on the First Fridays. You may also contribute to the SSVP through donations.

Parish Activities in School premises

The St. Pius X High School now works in two shifts, between 7am and 6pm on weekdays. Hence, the school premises are not available for parish activities during these hours.
