Wed, 26-Aug: Parish Fathers to visit A community

This Wednesday, 26th August, the parish fathers will continue the family visits in A community. The visits begin at 6:00 p.m.

Sun, 23-Aug: Parish Fete@6pm

The parish fete will begin at 6.00 p.m. in the school hall. We invite all our parishioners to join us for an evening of fellowship and celebration. There will be food stalls, game stalls, performances including jive, folk dance and fancy dress, as well as spot prizes.

Sun, 30-Aug: Marian Novena begins!

The Marian Novena will begin on Sunday, 30th August. Those who would like to sponsor gifts for the Novena are requested to kindly contact the parish office.

Sat, 5-Sep: Snehalaya Counsellor@St Pius X, Mulund

In response to a felt need, we have arranged for a professional Counsellor from Snehalaya Family Service Centre, Mahim, to be available on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

  • Three appointments of 45 minutes each will be available every Saturday.
  • Appointments may be booked at the parish office at a nominal fee of ₹150.
  • Each person may avail of one counselling session per month. If there is a greater need, we may extend this facility to every Saturday.
  • Please note that the parish bears approximately 80–90% of the professional fees of the counsellor. Therefore, once you book an appointment, kindly ensure that you attend it and avoid cancelling unnecessarily.
  • Those attending the session are requested to be present 15 minutes before their appointment.

We will begin on the 1st Saturday of September. Booking are now open.

Thu, 27-Aug: Adoration Chapel reserved@9pm

This Thursday, 27th August, at 9:00 p.m., the youth will be led in prayer in the adoration chapel. Although the chapel will be open, we request other parishioners not to enter or join the prayer, as this time is reserved for the youth.

Sun, 4-Oct: Pre-Baptism Course begins!

The Pre-Baptism course will be conducted on all Sundays in October, beginning 4th October. All expectant parents are required to undergo the Pre-Baptism Catechesis by the 4th or 5th month of pregnancy. Registration should be done at the parish office, along with a copy of the marriage certificate. The next Pre-Baptism Course will be conducted in February 2027.

Bible diaries for the year 2027 and Holy Bibles are available at the CCO.

COM-UNION bulletin available

The parish bulletin is now available. Animators are requested to collect the bulletins and distribute them to their respective families.

Since G and O2 communities do not have community coordinators, parishioners from these communities are requested to kindly collect their parish bulletin from the parish office.

Prison Ministry Sunday

Sun, 16-Aug: Prison Ministry Sunday

Today is observed as Prison Ministry Sunday in the Archdiocese of Bombay. Our Prison Ministry volunteers will be distributing envelopes to support the ministry of the Centre for Peace. A box has been placed inside the church where you may kindly drop your contribution.

This Wednesday, on account of the Triduum in preparation for our Parish Feast, there will be no house visits by the Parish Fathers

The Adult Faith Formation Ministry is organising a session on “Prioritizing & Time Management.” The session will commence immediately after the 8.15 am Mass in the AV hall.

Sun, 16-Aug: Competitions today

Today, we will be having the Rangoli and Rumble Jumble competitions as part of our Parish Feast celebrations.

19, 20, 21 Aug (Wed, Thu, Fri): Parish Feast Triduum

The Triduum in preparation for our Parish Feast will be held on 19th, 20th and 21st August.

  • The evening Mass on Saturday, 22nd August, and the morning Masses on Sunday, 23rd August, will all be Feast Masses.
    There will be no evening Mass on Sunday, 23rd August.

  • On Sunday, 23rd August, the Mass celebrated by the Bishop will be our Family Mass. We request all parents to sit with their children for this celebration. Please note that there will be special seating arrangements for this Mass. We encourage everyone to come as a family and participate in the celebration together. Kindly oblige.

Sun, 4-Oct: Next Parish Recollection

Saturday, 15th August, we had our first parish recollection. We sincerely thank all those who participated in such large numbers. The next recollection will be held on Sunday, 4th October. We look forward to your continued participation.

Vehicle Parking at weekend Masses

After the monsoon season, we are looking to open the parish grounds for vehicle parking during weekend Masses only, on a trial basis. Parking will be available from half an hour before Mass until half an hour after Mass. This initiative is being introduced to help ease traffic congestion on weekends.

The date from which this parking facility will begin will be announced shortly. Kindly note that it will not begin from next Sunday. The arrangement will be reviewed after a trial period to assess its effectiveness and suitability. Further details will be announced once the arrangement is finalised.

Please also note that this facility will not be extended to special Masses such as funerals and weddings.

The Adult Faith Formation Ministry is organising a session on “Succession Act for Indian Christians.” The session will commence immediately after the 8.15 am Mass in the AV hall.

Sun, 9-Aug: Parish Feast competitions for children

After the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass, we will be having the Parish Feast competitions for children in the School Hall. Next Sunday, we have Rangoli and Rumble Jumble contests.

Eligible age-group extended for Rangoli

Please note an important change regarding the Rangoli Competition for Adults.

Considering the interest and participation from our parishioners, the Parish Feast Committee has decided to extend the eligible age group for the competition.

  • New Age Group: 26 to 59 years.
    The age group was initially 31 to 59 years and has now been revised to include participants from 26 years onwards.

  • Registration extended until 11.30 am Thursday, 13th August, 2026.

We encourage all those who are eligible to take this opportunity and participate enthusiastically!

Youth Folk Dance groups

It has been brought to our notice that there are some difficulties regarding the formation of groups for the Youth Folk Dance Competition. Considering this, the Parish Feast Committee has decided:

  • That youth participants may now form their own groups as per their choice, with participants only from our parish.

  • Group size: Minimum 3 and maximum 6 participants

  • Registration extended until 11.30 am Thursday, 13th August, 2026.

Those who have registered will have a meeting on Thursday evening after Mass. During the meeting, chits will be picked to determine the Folk Dance that each group will have to perform.

We request all interested youth to make use of this opportunity and register within the extended deadline.

Thu, 13-Aug: Mass in Hindi/Marathi

This Thursday, 13th August, there will be a Mass in Hindi/Marathi after the regular evening Mass.

Thu, 13-Aug: Parish Feast Novena begins!

This Thursday, 13th August, we begin our Novena in preparation for the Parish Feast. The Novena prayer will be recited at all the Masses.

Sat, 15-Aug: Recollection for all Cells/Association members

This Saturday, 15th August, a Recollection will be held for members of all Cells and Associations from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. inside the church. Tea will be served from 3:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. only.

Fri, 14-Aug: Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Solemnity)

  • Friday, 14th August, is the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We begin with the Vigil Mass on Friday evening.

  • Saturday, 15th August, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass schedule for the day is 7:00 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Please note that, according to the Church’s Liturgical Calendar, Solemnities of the Lord, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and of the Saints take precedence over Sundays of Christmas Time and Sundays “per annum” (Sundays in Ordinary Time).

Therefore, the 7:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, 15th August, will be the Mass of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and not the Sunday Mass of 16th August.

Those who attend the Saturday evening Mass to fulfil their Sunday obligation are requested to please take note.

19, 20, 21 Aug (Wed, Thu, Fri): Parish Feast prep.*Triduum*

The Triduum in preparation for our Parish Feast will be held on 19th, 20th and 21st August.

  • The evening Masses on Saturday, 22nd August, and the morning Masses on Sunday, 23rd August, will all be Feast Masses. There will be no evening Mass on Sunday, 23rd August.

  • On Sunday, 23rd August, we would like all parents to sit with their children for the Mass to be celebrated by the Bishop. Please note that there will be special seating arrangements for this Mass. Kindly oblige. This will be our Family Mass, and we encourage everyone to come as a family and sit together for the celebration.

CWF monthly contribution

We remind you to please make your monthly contribution towards the Community Welfare Fund. Every earning member is requested to contribute a minimum of 1% of their income.

This Wednesday, 29th July, the Parish Fathers will complete the family visits in the T3 Community and begin visiting some families in Community A. The visits begin at 6:00 p.m.

The Adult Faith Formation Ministry is organising a session on “Handling Incompatibility in Marriage.” The session will commence immediately after 8.15 am Mass in the AV hall.

Services available for parishioners

  • Support for persons with Parkinson’s disease,
  • Stitching Classes, and
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Parish Feast prep.

As part of the preparations for our Parish Feast, we are organising a variety of competitions for all age groups:

  • For children Std.1st to 3rd – Vegetable Stamping,
  • Std. 4th to 6th – Bookmark Making,
  • Std. 7th to 10th – Clay Moulding,
  • For youth – 16 to 30 years category – Folk Dance,
  • For Adults 31 to 59 years category – Rangoli Making and Jive,
  • For Seniors – 60 plus years category – Rumble Jumble, and Fancy Dress.

The competitions will be conducted zone-wise, with communities being grouped together. Further details and schedules will be shared through the Parish WhatsApp Groups.

Meet for young adults intending Marriage (Dadar)

The Singles Ministry is organising a Meet for young adults who wish to meet and connect with the intention of marriage. The programme will be held on 16th August at Dadar. For further details, kindly refer to the Parish Notice Board.

Snehalaya — sessions & workshops

Snehalaya Family Service Centre is organising Counselling sessions and Workshops for Married Couples. For further details, kindly refer to the Parish Notice Board.

Thu, 30-Jul: Snr. Citizens Cell mtg.

The Senior Citizens Cell will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, 30th July, in the School Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be followed by a game of Housie. All senior citizens of the parish are warmly invited to attend.

This is a reminder to all Cells and Associations that a Recollection will be held on Saturday, 15th August, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Heads of all Cells and Associations are requested to submit the list of participants to the Parish Office by 9th August.

Wed, 22-Jul: Parish Fathers to visit T3

This Wednesday, 22nd July, the Parish Fathers will visit with T3 Community from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Schedule for Funeral Mass and Wedding Mass

Please note that, henceforth, whenever there is a Funeral Mass and a Wedding Mass on a Sunday, the schedule will be as follows:

  • Funeral Masses may be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.,
  • The Wedding Mass will be at 4:00 p.m. and
  • The scheduled Sunday Mass will be as usual at 6:00 p.m.

On Sundays when there is no Wedding Mass:

  • the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturdays and weekdays, when there is a Wedding Mass:

  • Funeral Masses will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m.
  • The Wedding Masses at 5:00 p.m.
  • Confessions on Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., followed by the scheduled evening Mass at 7:00 p.m.

Parishioners who have already booked a Wedding Mass are requested to contact the Parish Office immediately regarding these revised timings.

Registrations for Youth Formation Outing

So far, we have received 35 registrations for the Youth Formation Outing. Registration is limited to 50 participants and will close once all 50 seats have been filled.

Hall-booking charges for Month’s-mind services

In view of the rising cost of electricity, the hall booking charges for Month’s-mind services will remain at the present rate of ₹6,000, the allotted time continuing to be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. However, parishioners wishing to use the hall beyond the allotted time may do so, subject to availability and at an additional charge of ₹2,000 per hour.

25th, 26th Jul (Sat, Sun): Parents’ & Grandparents’ Day

Next Saturday and Sunday, 25th and 26th July, we will celebrate Parents’ and Grandparents’ Day.

Passes, priced at ₹150, will be available for purchase throughout the weekend after each Mass from members of the Youth, who will be seated at the entrance of the church.

The program will begin:

  • at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, and
  • at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Kindly note that, beginning with this program, entry into the hall will be permitted only during the first 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. Thereafter, entry into the hall will not be allowed.

Administrator for the church & school

We are looking for an administrator for the church & school on a voluntary basis. Those interested please meet Fr. Warner during parish office working hours.

25-Jul Mass@OLPS: Cancelled

The Mass at the OLPS Chapel on Saturday, 25th July, stands cancelled due to the celebration of Parents’ and Grandparents’ Day in the church.

For regular updates

Regarding Mass timings and parish activities, please make sure that:

  • Your family is registered in the parish;
  • You have a Parish Card and
  • The Zonal Leader has your mobile number for Whatsapp Group information.

It is very important that every family is registered in the parish.

  • The Parish office needs to check the Family Card whenever you approach the office for any work: like Booking of Masses, registering for Sacraments, or a Letter of Reference for education, or transfer to another parish. Hence, please bring your Family Card along when you visit the parish office. If you do not have a Family Card, please get it done from the parish office as soon as possible.
  • You must keep your Parish Family Card active by contributing to the Community Welfare Fund regularly, no matter even if it is a small amount. The Community Welfare Fund is used for helping the poor, giving medical and educational assistance, for Community programmes and for the development of the parish. It is important that you share in these concerns with your contribution.

Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Timings
6am – 2pm and 4pm – 9pm

We request you, please:

  • to observe the timings,
  • to not touch the Blessed Sacrament,
  • to not shift the chairs, and
  • to be aware of the presence of other people in the chapel; and so, to please “not pray loudly”, or genuflect in an awkward manner

Gate No. 4 is open for entry to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 6am to 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm

Bible Study

  • Parish level Bible Study held every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, from 7.30 to 9pm in the AV Room. All parishioners are invited.
  • Zonal level Bible Study will be held once a month in co-ordination with the Community Leaders.

Confessions

Saturdays 6 to 7pm in the church.

Matrimony

  • Contact any priest in the parish at least six months before the marriage date. You will be guided about the Marriage Preparation Course, getting the Baptism Certificate etc
  • No fresh flowers should be put on the bench or any wooden furniture in the church.
  • Bursting of fire crackers in and around the church premises is absolutely forbidden. The family is responsible for the same.

Baptism

  • You can come to the Parish Office and confirm the date, and check what documents are needed.
  • Baptisms are celebrated in our parish on Sundays after the 9.30am Mass.

Legal Help & Marriage Bureau (CCO)

For assistance you may call or WhatsApp >> Sr. Vivian from 10 to 12am on weekdays.

Program for Parkinson’s patients & Tuition Cell (CCO)

  • A group of doctors will conduct Exercises and an Awareness Program at the CCO every Wednesday for those affected by Parkinson’s.
  • There is a hospital bed available with the CCO.
  • The Tuition Cell of the CCO conducts free tuitions for marginalized students. We invite volunteers to teach the poor students.

Funeral Arrangement

Contact Jude or any of the Fathers over the phone. Contact numbers have been given in your WhatsApp Groups. Till further notice, we will continue to celebrate the Funeral Mass at the Mulund East cemetery.

Proceedings at Funeral Masses

  • The mortal remains will be brought to the church for viewing half an hour before the Mass.
  • After the Mass, close family members will move out to the church porch during the final hymn to accept condolences. Please do not crowd in the church to meet the relatives.
  • People may come forward from the centre isle to pay their last respects and move out from the side (as you come for communion distribution).
  • Only one person will deliver the eulogy from the choir mike. The eulogy should be three to five minutes only.

CWF

Contribution to the Community Welfare Fund (CWF) can be made to the Parish Account —details have been sent through Community Leaders. Once the transaction is done, kindly send the details on the (new) mobile number sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Group.

Articles for the poor

  • Kindly DO NOT BRING or LEAVE anything at the church until an announcement is made during the Sunday Notices.
  • And when such request is made, please refrain from bringing articles that cannot be used any longer; like torn clothes, inner garments, broken statues, old religious books, etc.

Contributing to the SSVP

  • The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, Mulund unit — needs more people to join them in working for the poor of the parish. You may give your name to the Parish Priest.
  • The SVP makes a collection during the Masses on the First Fridays. You may also contribute to the SSVP through donations.

Parish Activities in School premises

The St. Pius X High School now works in two shifts, between 7am and 6pm on weekdays. Hence, the school premises are not available for parish activities during these hours.
