PENTECOST Sunday

Altar Servers meet on Thursdays

We would like to encourage all children from Std. IV to Std. X to be a part of the Altar Servers. Meetings are held every Thursday from 5 pm, followed by time for games and activities. Those who would like to join are invited to come for a meeting this Thursday.

The Jubilee Cross at our parish

The Jubilee Cross has been well accepted in the communities and families as moment of grace. We resume the journey of the Cross from this week. It will remain in the Community for 7 days. On the weekend, the full community can pray together. On the other days, the Cross may move from cluster to cluster. We begin this week with Community F, and then move on to Community G next week.

Tue, 10-Jun: Mass Bookings open for Jul, Aug, Sep

Mass bookings for the months of July, August and September will open from Tuesday, the 10th of June at 9.00 am. You may bring only your family card for the booking of Masses.

Divine Mercy Chaplet every Friday

Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited every Friday after the Evening Mass.

Sat, 14-Jun: Mass at OLPS Chapel

Mass at OLPS Chapel will resume from next Saturday, 14th of June.

Mon, 16-Jun: Hindi Marathi Mass

There will be a Mass in Marathi and Hindi at 7.30 pm on the 3rd Monday of the month, starting from the 16th of June.
This will be after the usual 7 pm Mass in English.

Sun, 22-Jun: Sunday School & Confirmation classes begin

Sunday School & Confirmation classes will begin from the 22nd of June.
Students who have appeared for SSC exams and those above the age of 16, who have not yet received Confirmation should register in the parish office by the next Sunday. Registration forms are available in the office.

28-Jun to 29-Nov: Deepen Your Faith course for adults

The Archdiocese is organizing the Deepen Your Faith course for adults from 28th June to 29th November at St. Andrew’s College, Bandra. This year’s theme focuses on Pilgrims of Hope as we celebrate the Jubilee Year. For more details and registration, please refer to the parish notice board.

Sun, 15-Jun: Tamil Mass

Next Sunday there will be Mass in Tamil at 7pm.

Sun, 15-Jun: BCS AGM

The AGM of the Bombay Catholic Sabha will be held next Sunday, at 11 am in the school hall.

7th Sunday of Easter

Welcome Fr Denvel & Fr Ilayaraj

We welcome Fr Denvel Nunes to our parish.
Fr. Denvel has served in our parish as a Deacon four years ago.

We also welcome Fr Ilayaraj, who will be a Chaplain for the Tamil community.

We wish them both a fruitful ministry in our parish.

Fri, 6-Jun: Adoration at 7 pm

6th of June is the First Friday of the month. There will be a Half-hour Adoration at 7 pm, followed by Mass at 7.30 pm.

Sun, 8-Jun: Pentecost feast celebration

The Feast of Pentecost will be celebrated on 8th June. There will be a Pentecost Rally in our church on that day from 4 pm onwards with Praise & Worship, a talk and infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Evening Mass will be as usual.

Minority quota for Catholic students

There is a Minority quota for Catholic students in Christian colleges. Those students who wish to apply for Christian minority colleges for FYJC need to check the process for admission at each of these colleges individually. Please see the notice board for opportunities at various Minority colleges.

For regular updates

Regarding Mass timings and parish activities, please make sure that:

  • Your family is registered in the parish;
  • You have a Parish Card and
  • The Zonal Leader has your mobile number for Whatsapp Group information.

It is very important that every family is registered in the parish.

  • The Parish office needs to check the Family Card whenever you approach the office for any work: like Booking of Masses, registering for Sacraments, or a Letter of Reference for education, or transfer to another parish. Hence, please bring your Family Card along when you visit the parish office. If you do not have a Family Card, please get it done from the parish office as soon as possible.
  • You must keep your Parish Family Card active by contributing to the Community Welfare Fund regularly, no matter even if it is a small amount. The Community Welfare Fund is used for helping the poor, giving medical and educational assistance, for Community programmes and for the development of the parish. It is important that you share in these concerns with your contribution.

  • The ‘Multi-intention Mass’ will be on Saturday evening

Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Timings
6am – 2pm and 4pm – 9pm

We request you to please:

  • observe the timings,
  • to not touch the Blessed Sacrament,
  • to not shift the chairs, and
  • to be aware of the presence of other people in the chapel.
    So to please “not pray loudly”, or genuflect in an awkward manner

Gate No. 4 is open for entry to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 6am to 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm

Bible Study

  • Parish level Bible Study held every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, from 7.30 to 9pm in the AV Room. All parishioners are invited.
  • Zonal level Bible Study will be held once a month in co-ordination with the Community Leaders.

Confessions

Saturdays 6 to 7pm

Matrimony

  • Contact any priest in the parish at least six months before the marriage date. You will be guided about the Marriage Preparation Course, getting the Baptism Certificate etc
  • No fresh flowers should be put on the bench or any wooden furniture in the church.
  • Bursting of fire crackers in and around the church premises is absolutely forbidden. The family is responsible for the same.

Baptism

You can come to the Parish Office and confirm the date, and check what documents are needed.

Baptisms are celebrated in our parish on Sundays after the 9.30am Mass.

Legal Help & Marriage Bureau (CCO)

For assistance you may call or WhatsApp >> Sr. Vivian from 10 to 12am on weekdays.

Program for Parkinson’s patients & Tuition Cell (CCO)

  • A group of doctors will conduct Exercises and an Awareness Program at the CCO every Wednesday for those affected by Parkinson’s.
  • There is a hospital bed available with the CCO.
  • The Tuition Cell of the CCO conducts free tuitions for marginalized students. We invite volunteers to teach the poor students.

Funeral Arrangement

Contact Jude or any of the Fathers over the phone. Contact numbers have been given in your WhatsApp Groups. Till further notice, we will continue to celebrate the Funeral Mass at the Mulund East cemetery.

Proceedings at Funeral Masses

  • The mortal remains will be brought to the church for viewing half an hour before the Mass.
  • After the Mass, close family members will move out to the church porch during the final hymn to accept condolences. Please do not crowd in the church to meet the relatives.
  • People may come forward from the centre isle to pay their last respects and move out from the side (as you come for communion distribution).
  • Only one person will deliver the eulogy from the choir mike. The eulogy should be three to five minutes only.

CWF

Contribution to the Community Welfare Fund (CWF) can be made to the Parish Account —details have been sent through Community Leaders. Once the transaction is done, kindly send the details on the (new) mobile number sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Group.

Articles for the poor

We are grateful to you for bringing to the church used clothes for the poor of our parish. However, please refrain from bringing articles that cannot be used any longer; like torn clothes, inner garments, broken statues, old religious books, etc.

Contributing to the SSVP

  • The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, Mulund unit — needs more people to join them in working for the poor of the parish. You may give your name to Fr George.
  • The SSVP cupboard outside the parish office is only for good clothes and bedsheets which can be used by the poor of the parish. Hence, please do not keep shoes, books, Bibles, religious articles, calendars, artificial jewellery, show pieces, undergarments and torn or stained clothes.
  • The SVP makes a collection during the Masses on the First Fridays. You may also contribute to the SSVP through donations.

Parish Activities in School premises

The St. Pius X High School now works in two shifts, between 7am and 6pm on weekdays. Hence, the school premises are not available for parish activities during these hours.
