Ordinations to the Priesthood – Deacons Kenneth & Karthick
Deacon Kenneth Pinto, bachelor son of Mr. Lancelot and Mrs. Lorna Pinto, residing at E-701, Marathon Cosmos, LBS Marg, Mulund West will be Ordained a Priest by Archbishop John Rodrigues on 29th March 2025 at St. Pius X College. If anyone has an objection, you must inform the Parish Priest as soon as possible.
We pray for Deacons Kenneth and Karthick as they prepare themselves for their ordination to the Priesthood.
Baskets for old ‘palms & religious books’
Baskets have been kept around the church, where you can deposit old palms, and discarded religious books & articles.
Sun, 23-Feb: Jubilee Mass Liturgy
Next Sunday, we will have Jubilee Mass Liturgy and introduce the Jubilee Cross, that will be taken from Community to Community in various homes throughout this Holy Year.

The OLPS Chapel Annual feast will be celebrated next Saturday with Mass at 7 pm, followed by a get together.

Entrances to church (in view of compound work)
- This week only Gate number 2 will be open to come to the church on week days.
- The Adoration chapel is closed and the Blessed Sacrament is being exposed in the church. The church will remain open from 6 am to 9 pm, except between 2 to 4 pm.
Tue, 11-Feb: Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (World Day of the Sick)
Tuesday, 11th of February is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, celebrated as the World Day of the Sick.
In view of this, there will be a Special Mass celebrated in our church by Bp. Dominic Savio Fernandes at 5 pm for the sick and the aged on Wednesday, the 12th . Please assist the homebound to come to the church for this Special Mass of Healing & Anointing.

Sun, 9-Feb: Intro Session – Consecration to St. Joseph
The introductory session for Consecration to St. Joseph will be held on Sunday 9th February at 7pm in the AV room.
Bible Study Course of 7 classes (for ages above 13yrs)
There will be an in-depth Bible Study Course of 7 classes for everyone above the age of 13, on the Gospel of Mark from 2nd to 9th March from 7.45 to 9.45 pm in the AV room. For registration contact Fr. Aaron.
Parish FAMILY CARD
It is very important that every family is registered in the parish.
- The Parish office needs to check the Family Card whenever you approach the office for any work: like Booking of Masses, registering for Sacraments, or a Letter of Reference for education, or transfer to another parish. Hence, please bring your Family Card along when you visit the parish office. If you do not have a Family Card, please get it done from the parish office as soon as possible.
- You must keep your Parish Family Card active by contributing to the Community Welfare Fund regularly, no matter even if it is a small amount. The Community Welfare Fund is used for helping the poor, giving medical and educational assistance, for Community programmes and for the development of the parish. It is important that you share in these concerns with your contribution.

Sun, 2-Feb: Presentation of the Lord (Feast)
Next Sunday, 2nd of February is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
Candles will be blessed at the school porch at 6.45 am followed by a procession to the church, for Mass at 7 am.
It is also the Day of Consecrated Life. We pray in a special way for the Religious Sisters in our parish.
Mon, 3-Feb: Feast of St. Blaise
Monday, the 3rd of February is the Feast of St. Blaise. There will be Blessing of Throats after the Mass.

The Jubilee Year aims at restoration, revival and renewal of our relationship with God. Therefore, during this Lenten and Easter Season we are planning the parish revival through multiple programs:

CONSECRATION TO ST JOSEPH
This aims at understanding and embracing our God-given Vocation as men and as Fathers with the help of St. Joseph. The Consecration will help us protect our families better. There will be an Introductory Session on Sunday, 9th February in the AV room at 7pm.

- to not touch the Blessed Sacrament,

- to be aware of the presence of other people in the chapel.
So to please “not pray loudly”, or genuflect in an awkward manner
Gate No. 4 is open for entry to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 6am to 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm
Bible Study
- Parish level Bible Study held every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, from 7.30 to 9pm in the AV Room. All parishioners are invited.
- Zonal level Bible Study will be held once a month in co-ordination with the Community Leaders.

Saturdays 6 to 7pm
Matrimony
- Contact any priest in the parish at least six months before the marriage date. You will be guided about the Marriage Preparation Course, getting the Baptism Certificate etc
- No fresh flowers should be put on the bench or any wooden furniture in the church.
- Bursting of fire crackers in and around the church premises is absolutely forbidden. The family is responsible for the same.
Baptism
You can come to the Parish Office and confirm the date, and check what documents are needed.
Baptisms are celebrated in our parish on Sundays after the 9.30am Mass.
Legal Help & Marriage Bureau (CCO)
For assistance you may call or WhatsApp >> Sr. Vivian from 10 to 12am on weekdays.

Program for Parkinson’s patients & Tuition Cell (CCO)
- A group of doctors will conduct Exercises and an Awareness Program at the CCO every Wednesday for those affected by Parkinson’s.
- There is a hospital bed available with the CCO.
- The Tuition Cell of the CCO conducts free tuitions for marginalized students. We invite volunteers to teach the poor students.

Funeral Arrangement
Contact Jude or any of the Fathers over the phone. Contact numbers have been given in your WhatsApp Groups. Till further notice, we will continue to celebrate the Funeral Mass at the Mulund East cemetery.
Proceedings at Funeral Masses
- The mortal remains will be brought to the church for viewing half an hour before the Mass.
- After the Mass, close family members will move out to the church porch during the final hymn to accept condolences. Please do not crowd in the church to meet the relatives.
- People may come forward from the centre isle to pay their last respects and move out from the side (as you come for communion distribution).
- Only one person will deliver the eulogy from the choir mike. The eulogy should be three to five minutes only.
CWF
Contribution to the Community Welfare Fund (CWF) can be made to the Parish Account —details have been sent through Community Leaders. Once the transaction is done, kindly send the details on the (new) mobile number sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Group.
Articles for the poor
We are grateful to you for bringing to the church used clothes for the poor of our parish. However, please refrain from bringing articles that cannot be used any longer; like torn clothes, inner garments, broken statues, old religious books, etc.
Contributing to the SSVP
- The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, Mulund unit — needs more people to join them in working for the poor of the parish. You may give your name to Fr George.
- The SSVP cupboard outside the parish office is only for good clothes and bedsheets which can be used by the poor of the parish. Hence, please do not keep shoes, books, Bibles, religious articles, calendars, artificial jewellery, show pieces, undergarments and torn or stained clothes.
- The SVP makes a collection during the Masses on the First Fridays. You may also contribute to the SSVP through donations.

Parish Activities in School premises
The St. Pius X High School now works in two shifts, between 7am and 6pm on weekdays. Hence, the school premises are not available for parish activities during these hours.
