‘A Day of Faith and Fellowship’
Our Youth Walking Pilgrimage
By Calista Moraes
Our pilgrimage began with excitement as we gathered at 5 AM, our enthusiasm undampened by the crowded train. This journey was our heartfelt gift to Mary, our Mother.
At Dadar station, we navigated the bustling market, fortifying ourselves with delicious rolls(that reminded us of shawarma). Fr. Aaron’s insightful talk grounded us in the pilgrimage’s purpose, reminding us that this was more than just a walk.
In groups of four, we set out, reciting the rosary. Surprisingly, the walk felt invigorating rather than tiring. It truly felt as if Mary and Jesus were walking alongside us, making the experience incredibly awesome and special.
Fr. Clifford warmly welcomed us at St. Andrews, providing refreshments and a brief rest. We then continued in silent reflection to the Basilica of Mount Mary. The Mass was vibrant, with an active congregation and beautiful choir. Fr. Aaron’s impromptu co-celebration added to the day’s blessings.
After Mass, we enjoyed hot dogs and captured group photos before exploring the fair, with the Ferris wheel being a highlight for many. As the afternoon progressed, we began our journey home, the train ride a mix of cheerful chatter, quiet reflection, and well-earned rest.
Looking back, we can see God’s presence in every detail of our pilgrimage. From the morning’s anticipation to the afternoon’s cherished memories, this journey strengthened our faith and community bonds. It was a day filled with joy, reflection, and spiritual growth – one we’ll always remember.
