4th Sunday of Easter

Mon, 22-Apr: St. Pius the X, Summer Camp

St. Pius the X, Summer Camp will be held from Monday, 22-April. All those who have registered themselves should be in the hall by 8.45 am. There will be on-the-spot registration of children who have missed out.

May month: Parish Office timings

During the month of May, the Parish office will be open from 9.00 to 11.30 am only.

May month: Rosary in the church weekdays

Rosary will be recited in the church in the month of May in front of the statue of Our Lady on weekdays from 6.30 pm, before the Evening Mass.

Thursdays in May: Evening Mass in ENG

During the month of May, the Evening Mass on Thursdays will be in English.

Thanks & Best Wishes: Sr Seema

Sr. Seema from St. Mary’s Convent will be moving to Nirmala High School, Kerala as the Superior of the Convent and Manager of the School. She has been with us for 8 years; serving in the Sunday School, the Small Christian Communities and as an Eucharistic Minister. With her quiet nature and a welcome smile, she has been much appreciated in the SCC’s. We thank her for her ministry in the parish, both in the church and at St. Mary’s High School; and wish her the very best in her new assignment.

Mon, 20-May: Vote wisely at the Elections

We encourage all adult parishioners to exercise their right to vote wisely in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections on 20th May in Mumbai.

  • Accordingly, The Bombay Catholic Sabha, Mulund Unit has arranged an interactive session on ‘THE IMPORTANCE OF WHY WE SHOULD VOTE’ next Sunday, 28th April, at 10.45 am in the School Hall. Eminent speakers like Pramila Dsouza, Teesta Setalvad, Dolphy D’Souza & Norbert Mendonca will answer your queries.
  • In view of this on Thursday 25th April 2024 the Bombay Catholic Sabha along with the Prayer Group will be having a Special Adoration after the Evening Mass to pray for good and fair elections. All are welcome! All parishioners are welcome.

3rd Sunday of Easter

Many Thanks & Best Wishes dear Fr Gavin

Fr. Gavin D’Souza who has served in our parish for seven years, will move to Holy Cross church & school, Kurla from June.

We thank him for his ministry here in Mulund:

  • Under his leadership St. Pius X School has grown in leaps & bounds,
  • The International School now stands on a strong foundation, and
  • the Sunday School has flourished with his affirming presence and hard work.
  • His interactive Masses were well appreciated by the children, and
  • His visits in the parish and availability to all — has been very edifying.
  • His passion for singing, his guidance in the SCC’s and the various cells, esp. the Cantors & Lectors — has been of immense value.

We offer him a million thanks and pray for his continued priestly ministry in the future. We will felicitate him at the 9.30 am Mass on Sunday, 14-April.

22-Apr – 4-May: St. Pius X, Mulund – Summer Camp

St. Pius the X, Summer Camp will be held from the 22nd of April to the 4th of May 2024. The Camp is open for parishioners from Std. III to Std. X. The registration forms should be submitted in the parish office by Sunday, 14-April.

Sun, 21-Apr: Tamil Mass@7 pm

Next Sunday, the third Sunday of the month, we will have an extra Mass at 7 pm in Tamil. It will be after the usual 6 pm Mass in English.

Mulund East Cemetery notice

Extensive repairs and renovation has been taken up in the Mulund East Cemetery. Hence, the prayer hall will not be available till further notice.
Please note that the next phase of concretizing the graves will begin soon. Hence, the mortal remains of those buried upto 2021 should be exhumed as soon as possible.

Regarding Mass timings and parish activities, please make sure that:

  • Your family is registered in the parish;
  • You have a Parish Card and
  • The Zonal Leader has your mobile number for Whatsapp Group information.

Masses in church

Weekdays
6.30 am & 7 pm
Sundays
7 am, 8.15 am, 9.30 am & 6 pm
All Masses are in English, except:
Third Sundays 7 pm (extra Mass) – in Tamil, and
Thursdays 7 pm – in Konkani

  • The Mass for—intentions placed in the box in the Sanctuary—will be on Wednesday evening, and
  • The Multi-intention Mass will be on Saturday evening

Mass at the OLPS chapel

2nd & 4th Saturdays at 7pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour chapel (previously ACC chapel)

Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Timings
6am – 2pm and 4pm – 9pm

We request you to please:

  • observe the timings,
  • not touch the Blessed Sacrament, and
  • not shift the chairs.

Gate No. 4 is open for entry to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 6am to 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm

Bible Study

  • Parish level Bible Study held every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, from 7.30 to 9pm in the AV Room. All parishioners are invited.
  • Zonal level Bible Study will be held once a month in coordination with the Community Leaders.

Confessions

Saturdays 6 to 7pm

Matrimony

  • Contact any priest in the parish at least six months before the marriage date. You will be guided about the Marriage Preparation Course, getting the Baptism Certificate etc
  • No fresh flowers should be put on the bench or any wooden furniture in the church.
  • Bursting of fire crackers in and around the church premises is absolutely forbidden. The family is responsible for the same.

Baptism

You can come to the Parish Office and confirm the date, and check what documents are needed. Baptisms are celebrated in our parish on Sundays after the 9.30am Mass.

Legal Help & Marriage Bureau (CCO)

For assistance you may call or WhatsApp >> Sr. Vivian from 10 to 12am on weekdays. (Contact Number has been sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Groups)

Program for Parkinson’s patients & Tuition Cell (CCO)

  • A group of doctors will conduct Exercises and an Awareness Program at the CCO every Wednesday for those affected by Parkinson’s.
  • There is a hospital bed available with the CCO.
  • The Tuition Cell of the CCO conducts free tuitions for marginalized students. We invite volunteers to teach the poor students.

Funeral Arrangement

Contact Jude or any of the Fathers over the phone. Contact numbers have been given in your WhatsApp Groups. Till further notice, we will continue to celebrate the Funeral Mass at the Mulund East cemetery.

Proceedings at Funeral Masses

  • The mortal remains will be brought to the church for viewing half an hour before the Mass.
  • After the Mass, close family members will move out to the church porch during the final hymn to accept condolences. Please do not crowd in the church to meet the relatives.
  • People may come forward from the centre isle to pay their last respects and move out from the side (as you come for communion distribution).
  • Only one person will deliver the eulogy from the choir mike. The eulogy should be three to five minutes only.

CWF

Contribution to the Community Welfare Fund (CWF) can be made to the Parish Account —details have been sent through Community Leaders. Once the transaction is done, kindly send the details on the (new) mobile number sent to you via your Zonal WhatsApp Group.

Articles for the poor

We are grateful to you for bringing to the church used clothes for the poor of our parish. However, please refrain from bringing articles that cannot be used any longer; like torn clothes, inner garments, broken statues, old religious books, etc.

Contributing to the SSVP

  • The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, Mulund unit — needs more people to join them in working for the poor of the parish. You may give your name to Fr George.
  • The SSVP cupboard outside the parish office is only for good clothes and bedsheets which can be used by the poor of the parish. Hence, please do not keep shoes, books, Bibles, religious articles, calendars, artificial jewellery, show pieces, undergarments and torn or stained clothes.
  • The SVP makes a collection during the Masses on the First Fridays. You may also contribute to the SSVP through donations.

Parish Activities in School premises

The St. Pius X High School now works in two shifts, between 7am and 6pm on weekdays. Hence, the school premises are not available for parish activities during these hours.
